This is a pre-tour to Ireland for members and friends of Redeemer Presbyterian Church.

Dr. Tony Felich has been the senior pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Overland Park, KS for 20 years. Tony’s area of special interest is Reformation Church History, especially related to the Westminster Assembly of the middle seventeenth century. Tony is an adjunct professor of Church History at Sangre De Cristo Seminary and holds degrees from Moody Bible Institute (B.A.), Covenant Theological Seminary (M.Div), Whitefield Theological Seminary (D.Arts), Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (D.Min and Th.M). Tony is married to Shari, who will be helping to host this trip. Tony and Shari have four children, two in college and two still at home. Dr. Felich enjoys teaching Church History in a way that encourages the faith of modern Christians.

Day 1: Friday, May 27, 2022: Flight
We will fly from the US to Ireland. (IF)
Day 2: Saturday, May 28, 2022: Dublin
On arrival in Dublin, we will meet our tour director and transfer to our centrally-located hotel. In the afternoon we will have a guided tour including Trinity College and the Book of Kells. We will also visit the Guinness Store House. The evening is at leisure. (IF)
Day 3: Sunday, May 29, 2022: Cliffs of Moher, Killarney
Our first stop is the majestic Cliffs of Moher standing 702 feet at their highest point. They stretch for 5 miles along the Atlantic coastline. We will have fabulous views from the vantage point of O’Brien’s Tower. Following some free time to view the cliffs, we will travel down to Killarney. (B)
Day 4: Monday, May 30, 2022: Ring of Kerry
Today, we embark on one of Ireland’s most famous tours – The Ring of Kerry. We will travel the wild and rugged landscape of the Iveragh Peninsula, which has some breathtaking views of the Atlantic coastline, in a horse drawn jaunting car. In the afternoon, we have the option to visit Muckross House and Gardens, one of Ireland’s leading stately homes. The elegantly furnished rooms portray the lifestyles of the landed gentry, while downstairs in the basement one can experience the working conditions of the servants employed in the House. The Gardens at Muckross House are renowned world-wide for their beauty. We will also see a number of skilled craft workers using traditional skills in the crafts of weaving, bookbinding and pottery in the adjacent walled garden center. We will return to our hotel in Killarney in the evening. (B)
Day 5: Tuesday, May 31, 2022: Blarney Castle, Waterford
No trip to Ireland would be complete without a visit to Blarney Castle to kiss the famous Blarney Stone, said to bestow the gift of eloquence on all those who dare. In the afternoon, we will drive to Waterford, Ireland’s oldest city, which was founded by Vikings in 914. We will have a tour of the city, including a visit to the world-famous Waterford Crystal Factory. We will overnight in Waterford. (B)
Day 6: Wednesday, June 1, 2022: Glendalough, Dublin
After breakfast, we will travel to Glendalough in the scenic Wicklow Mountains. This is an important monastic site, founded in the 6th century by St. Kevin. We can have a stroll to see the picturesque ruins of a round tower, churches, and Celtic crosses. We’ll continue on to Dublin and check-in to our centrally-located hotel. We will end the tour at a music, story, and folk-dancing event in Dublin’s oldest pub. (B/D)
Day 7: Thursday, June 2, 2022: Depart
We will fly to Edinburgh early in the morning and meet the group. (B)
