You are invited on a 12-day tour from Rome to Munich, including the Oberammergau Passion Play. This incredible retelling of the life of Christ dates back to the middle of the Thirty Years War. In 1633, after months of suffering from the Bubonic Plague, the people of Oberammergau took a vow to perform the “Play of the Suffering, Dying and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ” every ten years if they were spared. The 2020 performances were postponed due to Covid, so 2022 will be another celebration of life after a pandemic.
Our tour hosts, Rev. Jason and Sandra Steele, have served in ministry for over 20 years. Sandra is an inactive attorney who has homeschooled their two daughters. Pastor Jason is an Evangelical Presbyterian Church minister with a congregation in Owosso, MI. He often teaches classes to his congregation on church history and is known to preach first person sermons as various church reformers. The Steeles enjoyed hosting our Reformation Jubilee Tour in May 2017, and they are excited to host, learn and laugh together with you on this historical adventure.

Day 3: Sunday, June 19, 2022: Rome
We will begin today at the Scala Sancta (Holy Stairs) which were reputedly brought to Rome from Jerusalem by St. Helena in the fourth century.
