The United Kingdom (includes Northern Ireland) will require visitors to apply for an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) in 2025. We will let you know when the application process is open.
What You Need to Know:
- Application Dates: Non-Europeans can start applying for an ETA from 27 November 2024, and Europeans from 5 March 2025.
- Introduction Dates: Non-Europeans will need an ETA to travel from 8 January 2025, and Europeans from 2 April 2025
- Cost: An ETA costs £10 and is valid for two years or until the passport expires, allowing multiple trips for up to six months at a time.
- Who Needs It: Visitors who do not already have a UK immigration status or do not need a visa for short stays will require an ETA. Visitors coming to the UK, including Northern Ireland, for tourism, visiting family and friends, attending sporting or cultural events; for business trips and study as a visitor.
