Day 1: Thursday, September 16, 2027: Flight to Edinburgh
We will set off today on our overnight flights to Edinburgh, Scotland. (IF)

Day 2: Friday, September 17: Edinburgh
When we arrive in Edinburgh, Scotland, we will meet our Reformation Tours’ Tour Director, who will welcome us to Scotland. The afternoon is free for shopping, strolling down the Royal Mile, or visiting the Museum of Edinburgh. The Edinburgh Art Gallery has a very significant collection of art with a strong Biblical message. We will have an optional excursion to the royal palace of Holyrood where in 1561 John Knox had discussions about Christianity with Mary Queen of Scots. Our welcome dinner is at a restaurant this evening. (IF/D)

Day 3: Saturday, September 18, 2027: St. Andrews, Edinburgh
This morning we will visit St. Andrews, a spiritual center in Scotland for centuries. During the Reformation, St. Andrews University was third in significance after Oxford and Cambridge. In the now ruined castle, we will see the Bottle Dungeon where George Wishart was imprisoned before being burned at the stake, and pause at his martyrdom site, also remembering fellow martyr Patrick Hamilton. St. Andrews Cathedral was once the largest church in Scotland, but fell into ruin after John Knox’s sermon, which was inspired by Wishart’s martyrdom. We will return to Edinburgh in the afternoon, and the rest of the day is at leisure. (B)

Day 4: Sunday, September 19, 2027: Edinburgh
This morning we will attend morning worship at St. Columba’s Church, followed by tea and coffee in the Main Hall. We’ll have a group lunch together after the service. In the afternoon, we will tour Edinburgh Castle, including the tiny St. Margaret’s Chapel, which dates back to the 1100s. (B/L)

Day 5: Monday, September 20, 2027: Edinburgh, Oban
On our walking tour this morning, we will visit St. Giles Cathedral, the John Knox House, Greyfriars Church, Magdalene Chapel, and the Royal Mile, with a focus on the Reformation in Edinburgh, John Knox, and the Covenanters. We will drive to Oban in the afternoon and dine in our hotel. (B/D)

Day 6: Tuesday, September 21, 2027: Mull and Iona Islands
A grand day awaits us as we sail to Mull and then to St Columba’s Island of Iona, which was founded in 563 by St. Columba (521-97) and was a leading center for Christian scholarship throughout Europe. After visiting the Abbey and free time, we will head back to Oban. (B/D)

Day 7: Wednesday, September 22, 2027: Highlands, Stirling
Scotland is famous for its whisky, and we will take a tour of Oban’s distillery this morning, which includes a taste of their famous single malt with some crystallized ginger. Continuing on to Stirling, we’ll tour the magnificent Stirling Castle, where James VI was educated by Scottish Reformer George Buchanan. We will also visit the Church of the Holy Rude, once a royal cathedral where John Knox preached for James VI’s baptism in 1566. (B/D)

Day 8: Thursday, September 23, 2027: York
After bidding farewell to Scotland, we will drive to York and enjoy a walking tour of York’s quaint old town and walk atop the ancient city walls. We will also attend the Evensong service at York Minster Cathedral, the largest medieval church in England. Christianity has an early heritage in York. By 306, when Constantine the Great was proclaimed Emperor in York, it is believed there was a small Christian community. In 312, he issued a general edict of toleration for the Christian Church, and York became a center of Christianity. We will stay overnight in York. (B/D)

Day 9: Friday, September 24, 2027: Bedford, Oxford
We will drive south today and visit Bedford. Here we will learn more about John Bunyan, the author of Pilgrim’s Progress, a Christian allegory considered the most widely read book of all time, second only to the Bible. Originally a poor, barely literate tinker, he became a popular preacher and author. Pilgrim’s Progress was written while he was imprisoned for 12 years for preaching without a license from the Church of England. We will arrive in Oxford in time to enjoy Evensong at Christ Church Cathedral, then end our day with dinner at a classic British pub. (B/D)

Day 10: Saturday, September 25, 2027: Oxford, London
Oxford is one of England’s famous University cities, with a rich Reformation history. The early English reformer, John Wycliffe, was a professor at the university as was the famous Christian writer C.S. Lewis. Other well-known students included Bible translator William Tyndale and the great revivalist preacher George Whitefield. Our walking orientation tour will include the Martyr Memorial, Radcliffe Square, the Bodleian Library, St. Mary the Virgin and the interior of one of the colleges. After time to purchase lunch, we will drive to Hampton Court Palace, where James I commissioned the King James Version of the Bible in 1604. On our way to London, we will stop for dinner in a delightful country pub. (B/D)

Day 11: Sunday, September 26, 2027: London
This morning we will attend the 9:30 AM service at All Souls Langham Place, followed by a traditional roast dinner. In the afternoon we will have a guided tour of the Tower of London, including the stunning Crown Jewels. We will then sail on the Thames to Westminster Pier. There will be an opportunity to see a show this evening (additional cost) or have a free evening. (B/L)

Day 12: Monday, September 27, 2027: London
We will begin our day with a tour of Biblical artifacts in the British Museum. In the afternoon, we will have a guided tour of Westminster Abbey, where most British Kings and Queens have been crowned since 1066. It’s the final resting place for many monarchs, heroes, and poets. We will have a spectacular view of London from the London Eye, then a special Farewell Meal. (B/D)

Day 13: Tuesday, September 28, 2027: Depart
We will transfer to the airport to return to the USA. Additional days in London or other cities are available on request. (B/IF)

Arrival and Departure Transfers

Once the tour is a guaranteed departure our air team can assist you with booking flights and transfers. If you have booked your own flights, we can still provide transfers, as long as we have your flight details on file and a phone number to give to the driver. We will include your transfer information in your final packet. Transfers will be arranged for each arrival, so that you won’t have to wait for other tour members if their flight is delayed. Transfers can be arranged for the day of your choosing, but we can’t arrange transfers if you arrive or depart by train.

Please note that individual transfers are booked through a third-party and you will be responsible to communicate with the company in case of delays.

Payment Schedule

•   The deposit of $350 per person is due at the time of booking through the registration system. As you register you will be given the option to pay by ACH (direct from your bank) or by credit card (3.5% fee). •   Final payment is due by June 17, 2027
•   Reservations will be accepted after June 17, 2027, subject to availability

Insurance

You will have the option to add insurance as part of the booking process. Travel International’s Pathway Premier policy is 4-7% of the tour cost, depending on traveler age, trip length, and coverage selected. Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) is an additional cost and must be purchased within 21 days of the initial deposit.
