UPDATE – The Passion Play has been postponed until 2022. Current ticket holders can reschedule for 2022 and tickets are valid for the same day of the week. For example, if your tickets were for Thursday, June 25, 2020, you can have them converted to tickets for Thursday, June 23, 2022. Please note that tickets for 2022 cannot be purchased at this time, as bookings for 2020 must first be cancelled. We are working with tour hosts to decide on which tours we will be offering in 2022 and we’ll be in touch with you by e-mail. Please do not call the office yet, as we don’t have any other details yet, but you can e-mail us your questions. Refunds will be issued when we have received the funds back from our suppliers.

In 2022, the Bavarian village of Oberammergau will once again perform the famous Passion Play, with thousands of visitors from all over the world. Passion Plays recount the life and ministry of Jesus Christ from the four gospels in a dramatic form. By watching a Passion Play we have a chance to reflect on the events most central to our faith, that Jesus died, was buried and rose again from the dead.
The producers of the 2022 play are Christian Stuckl and Abdullah Kenan Karaca. The conductor is are Markus Zwink. The designer is Stefan Hageneier. Click here to find out more about the the actors.
The Passion Play Theater was purpose-built, and is the largest open-air stage with a covered auditorium worldwide. It seats 4,500 people. All our seats are in Category 1 (the best seats), so you’ll have an excellent view.
